The song known as "we are the world" was written by a group of artist and is dedicated to the victims of the Haiti destruction. The artists who wrote this song have named themselves and are known as "live 25". They wrote this song to try and adress as well as try and get donors to help Haiti. In the production of this song, various production softwares have been used such as: virtual DJ- this software has been used in the song to add beats and also make the alternations in the song. Autotune- This software was used inn order to create tunes and modify certain areas of the song. Also, songsmith has been used to change/ enhance the voice of certain musicians. These softwares that have been used have helped in augmenting the tune and also tuniing the singer's voices. Some of the challenges faced in the production of this software: Some of these softwares did not provide the solution to the problem that the singers and the song needed. Some of the tunes and beats were hard to get. The comments that have been given by the listeners of this music have been positive and this is mainly because of the fact that it is for charity.

AAC

- Small file size
- higher quality sound than MP3

- Less compatible; Works in iTunes and with iPod, on Microsoft's Zune, and on the Sony PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable, as well as some cell phones
MP3

- Small file size
- More compatible: works with virtually every portable audio player and cell phone

- Lower sound quality than AAC
Apple Lossless

- Highest quality sound

- Less compatible; only works with iTunes and iPod
larger files than AAC or MP3
Slower encoding
File compression:
- An algorithm or scheme used to compress or shrink a file
Reasons:
- Mainly in sending its quite difficult to send a large file so in order to make it easier for both the sender and receiver you compress it, this preserves time and also makes life easier
- Also one might not have space on the computer or laptop and compression is the only answer.
